This Football Season Will Be Record-Breaking By Prediction of Playtech BGT Sports

The leading provider of omni-channel sports betting solutions, Playtech BGT Sports (PBS) is expecting its retail football turnover to break records on bets taken this season. That prediction is based on the increased use of self-service betting terminals (SSBT) which provider has incorporated in its channels recently.

Following the opening weekend of English Premier League fixtures, the provider believes the growth will be stimulated by:

  • An increasing range of markets
  • Convenience
  • Ease-of-use feature of the SSBT system

New Tools Contributed to Increase of Bets

The growing popularity of terminals is also due to the fact they are coming come with a number of tools. One of them is MatchAcca functionality, which gives shop customers the option to back-related contingencies by combining several selections into a single bet.

It also includes the new quick-fire application, which brings exciting in-play betting opportunities previously unavailable for the shop customer.

It also features the PBS Betrecommender content engine, which harnesses artificial intelligence to suggest relevant selections by analyzing millions of previous popular calculations and comparisons.

By the words of Lee Drabwell, Senior Commercial Director for Playtech BGT Sports, the latest tools allow operators to benefit from a range of market-leading engaging content and customer-friendly tools that can’t be delivered over the counter.

“We’re very excited about the football season ahead and the opportunities it presents to operators and expects it to be a very successful one. SSBTs are drawing in a far broader customer base to betting shops than ever before – especially for those frustrated by the online experience and looking for a new way to bet.

Our SSBTs bridge this gap, not only by providing shop customers with the digitized betting process they are accustomed to but also by offering a betting experience that is unmatched anywhere else – ensuring increased revenues for our operators,” he added.

Smart Move by Provider

It seems like PBS’s decision to launch its Self-Service Betting Terminal just days before the new football season kicks off was a very smart move. This terminal is providing a universal payment gateway that allows clients to perform payments for various services in interactive mode.

In the last year, the sports betting provider saw significant growth for customers via its terminals and the new campaign witnessed the launch of a new goalscorer coupon, as well as Asian handicap betting for the first time.

Both products have greatly improved coupon building for customers.

The provider presents an even more diverse football offering this season. With pre-match and in-play betting available across close to 1,000 competitions in more than 120 countries available on its SSBTs, the majority of these markets are unique to terminals within the retail space.

In-play customers will also see an improved service…

… with a greater range of matches present across hundreds of recently-installed terminals in prime position for TV coverage.

“High street bookies are facing their fair share of challenges, but the progress and increased profitability of SSBTs have been very positive, as they are successfully providing the choice and ease-of-use that today’s customers demand.

Our SSBTs help our operator partners drive incremental revenues and we’re confident that our enhanced product range, new coupons, and greater functionality will help that further,” said John Pettit, Playtech BGT Sport’s UK, Ireland, Asia and Australia Managing Director, in regards to the terminals.
