In December 2019, sportsbooks in Indiana took a total of $12 million from the amount of $161.8 million in bets. This is the record profit for this state’s sports betting, as the revenue rose 28.9% month on month (from November) and 4.3% from October, which held the previous record.
Speaking of stakes, online contributed to $110.6 million, which is a 14.9% rise since November. Online betting was 68.3% of overall bets, which is a big 65.3% increase since November.

Speaking of taxes, Indiana took a total of $1.1 million in those, which is 3.9% from October and 29% more than in November.
The biggest generator of revenue in December was East Chicago’s The Ameristar Casino and their DraftKings sportsbook. They raked in $5.8 million in revenue from $74.9m in handle. $5 million of this revenue came from online bets, from $66.7 million in stakes.
FanDuel’s sportsbook at Blue Chip Casino came second – from $36 million in bets, they brought in $2.2m in revenue.
BetRivers sportsbook at French Lick Resort, which was the first sportsbook to launch in Indiana, handled $7.9 million worth of bets and collected $528,200. The retail sportsbook saw $1.5 million in stakes and took in $13,587.
Churchill Downs Interactive launched the BetAmerica online sportsbook on 31st of December…
…which was done in co-op with Rising Star Casino. Players staked $2,129 in online bets during that single day in December, with casino winning only $1,173.
In vicinity of Chicago, Illinois, the Horseshoe Hammond Casino was the most successful retail sportsbetting casino. It collected $1.1 million from $13.4m in bets. The casino is yet to get the online sportsbook.

…football continued to be the most popular discipline – $59.1 million was wagered on this sport alone, which is a 2.3% monthly increase. Basketball followed with $42.3 million, which is a 25.7% increase.
Baseball came up third, with $35,828 in bets. $12.3m was bet on other sports, while $45.6m was wagered on parlay cards.
From the beginning of legal sports betting in this state, until the end of 2019, handle came to $429.7 million. Revenue came to $41.4 million.
