Borgata Opens its Doors to The Players, All Atlantic City Casinos Are Back in The Business

World-renowned operator Twin River has officially confirmed the reopening of its major brand Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi. The venue has opened its doors for visitors on Thursday, May 21st after a longer break, but with property-specific and law-determined health protocols. Hard Rock Biloxi represents the company’s second largest enterprise with a 20% stake of the entire network.
According to the official press release, all safety protocols are developed in collaboration with state regulators and represent a part of the overall reopening plan.
Hard Rock prides itself on the ability of its team to start operating after a longer period. Reopening is a true testament to hard work, said George Papanier, president and chief executive officer. He adds that the company was looking forward to go back after being encouraged by positive results. Even though the casino will have “reduced working hours and significant safety measures” Papanier is certain that guests will start arriving during the course of next two weeks or so.
“While it is only one day of performance, we are excited and thankful to welcome back our valued team and loyal customers to an environment that meets or exceeds CDC guidance. We appreciate the collaborative nature of our regulatory relationships in Mississippi, and we will continue to work closely with regulators and public health officials in other states to ensure the timely reopening of our other properties as soon as it is deemed safe to do so,” explains Papanier.
The Twin River company is actively working to launch its operations in other states across America as well, including Rhode Island, Delaware and Colorado. Back in April, the operator has even purchased three new venues from Caesars and Eldorado Resorts, thus expanding its network in distinct regions.
However, before the official launch, Hard Rock intensified its close cooperation with state regulators of gaming operations to finalize the resumption of iGaming businesses. Key points of this plan are highlighted on site as screening of team and guests upon entrance, including thermal imaging cameras, social distancing, spacing between video terminals, tables and other cabinets.
The operator is also required to perform frequent cleaning activities and sanitize all areas. Papanier said that Hard Rock Biloxi will keep each and every visitor updated on eventual changes on the reopening to raise public awareness. Papanier provided more information on the matter by saying:
“As we reopen our properties, we believe we will benefit from our status as a regional gaming company that is largely focused on local and regional visitation rather than air travel, destination or convention business. As such, we believe we are well-positioned to resume our growth trajectory and drive results upon resuming full operations.”
Earlier in February, Twin River teamed up with DraftKings and FanDuel to implement new products and diversify its offer on the market. Colorado customers are among the first to experience virtual and live sports betting at Golden Gates, Golden Gulch and Mardi Gras in Black Hawk.
Exactly one year ago, the company officially started trading on NY Stock Exchange.

Hopefully, everthing is slowly coming back, including casinos and sportsbooks. This is great news, although caution is still advised.
