Quickspin Co-Founder Calls It Quits

Quickspin co-founder, Joachim Timmermans, has officially announced that he would step down from his position. Joachim was with the Swedish-based studio ever since it has been established in September, 2011.

He has been in the position of the Chief Product Officer and as he explained it, the time has come for him to move on from the business.

He wrote on Linkedin: “The company is doing great, we’re growing healthily in both revenues and people. Thanks to all the operators who believed in us and ed us over the years and thanks to all the players that have enjoyed our games.”

Man For The Job

Timmermans used to be head of casino and games at Unibet before he decided to step down from this position and establish Quickspin. However, he wasn’t the only founder. Timmermans ed forces with Daniel Lindberg and Mats Westerlund and Quickspin was born before 2011 ended.

However, being the chief product officer at this successful company was not Timmermans’ only job. In addition to that role, he served as a senior advisor to social casino company, Plumbee, until February 2016. At that point…

…Plumbee was purchased by GSN Games but Timmermans has always had a soft spot in his heart for that company. He thanked Plumbee in a post for ing Quickspin since its infancy.

Important Partnerships

One of the things Timmermans is especially proud of is the partnership Quickspin established with Relax Gaming. According to the co-owner, this was a major milestone for Quickspin and that both companies profited.

At the time of the deal, Quickspin needed a platform and Relax was lacking in customers and it was just a right thing to do.

Nowadays, Quickspin is a subsidiary of Playtech. The London-based provider purchased it in a deal worth up to €50 million in May 2016.

Furthermore, it is important to mention that Quickspin received a license for the newly-opened Swedish regulated online market. They are one of the first providers to make their mark.

Innovations

Quickspin is working full steam and a few weeks ago, via the official press release, they presented Quickspin Challenge, a tool that could pioneer at least one aspect of the industry. The company’s CEO, Daniel Lindberg, believes that gamification…

…is the future of the iGaming industry and that this is the right way to go. Having Quickspin as the pioneer of such movement is something the entire team is proud of.

Not only that, but the developer from Sweden keeps surprising its players with new slot titles. One of the latest releases is called Ivan and the Immortal King, which takes players to cold and frozen Russia with elements of Russian folklore dominant in the game.

In of slots, Quickspin has had a successful year and they lived up to their promise! They announced 12 releases in the year and they manage to deliver all of them with time to spare.
