The ADG report highlighted significant contributions from top operators, as both retail and mobile betting channels continue to attract a growing base of active bettors across Arizona.
The monthly privilege fees collected by the state reached $2.2 million, generated from the adjusted gross wagering receipts. These fees, accumulated from a combination of retail and mobile event wagers, various state programs and services, showcasing the economic impact of Arizona’s expanding sports betting framework. The Arizona landscape is dominated by several key players, each contributing to the total wagering and privilege fee figures. According to the report, DraftKings led the market with approximately $170.3 million in total wagers, achieving about $13.2 million in adjusted gross event wagering receipts after deducting winnings. FanDuel followed closely, generating over $145.8 million in wagers and recording adjusted gross receipts of around $13.8 million. Caesars, another major player, reported $28.1 million in total wagers, while BetMGM saw about $56.8 million in wagering activity.
Fanatics Sports Book also demonstrated substantial engagement with nearly $20 million in wagers, while Bet365 followed, reporting over $22.4 million. Operators like RSI (Rush Street Interactive) and PENN Entertainment, under the ESPN Bet brand, each contributed over $5 million and $11.6 million, respectively. These operators reflect the wide interest and competitiveness in Arizona’s sports betting market as they expand their offerings and draw in diverse sports betting participants statewide.
In of privilege fees, DraftKings contributed significantly, while FanDuel’s robust engagement also resulted in considerable fees. For promotional credits and free bets, operators collectively deducted over $14.9 million, which helps operators attract and retain customers. Privilege fees, calculated on adjusted gross receipts after these deductions, totaled $2.2 million in August alone.
In addition to event wagering, Arizona has seen a consistent rise in fantasy sports betting. August’s fantasy sports contest revenue reached $770,705. The fantasy sports sector in Arizona comprises various operators, with DraftKings leading in revenue generation with an adjusted revenue of $135,021, followed by Prize Picks, which reported $512,169 in adjusted revenue. Notable operators like FanDuel and Underdog Fantasy Sports also contributed with $22,324 and $100,527 in adjusted revenue, respectively.
These fantasy sports operators contributed a combined total of $38,535 in privilege fees. This steady stream of revenue highlights the value and interest in fantasy sports within the state, aligning with the growth observed in traditional sports betting.
