The Canadian gaming industry annually honors the achievements of within its community. One outstanding member in the community will receive the prestigious reward for its exceptional leadership and contributions to the industry in 2019: Canadian Gaming Summit in Edmonton.

This year’s summit will also commend the four of the First Nation’s gaming community…

…their positive impacts on the gaming industry as well as recognize the remarkable leaders and role models within the First Nations community.

Industry Leadership and Outstanding Contribution

For more than two decades, the Canadian Gaming Industry Awards have sought to recognize the excellence in achievements, contributions, and leadership within the gaming industry. That is why, John Dominelli, is the recipient of this year’s Industry Leadership and Outstanding Contribution Award.

As founder and CEO of NRT Technology Corporation, he is an instrumental player in developing innovative technologies which are transforming the gaming industry. Leading technologies such as the first ticket redemption kiosks and jackpot attendant kiosks, as well as numerous other innovations,  are utilized by casinos and millions of people daily.

By his guidance, NRT has become an international corporation with hundreds of employees, five global locations, and over 100 million transactions annually serving more than 750 customers, including the World’s Top 25 Largest Casinos. Ocean Resort Casino in Atlantic City is just one of its clients.

Dominelli continues to be an exemplary leader in the industry, revolutionizing the technology landscape and building a multi-national leading corporation.

First Nation Canadian Gaming Award Winners

The 10th Annual First Nation Gaming Awards honors the outstanding accomplishments and contributions of the employees in the Canadian gaming industry.

This year the awards and its recipients were:

  • Community Service – Tracey Aginas, a member of the Nothern Isga Foundation’s board, focused on serving her community by consistently volunteering her time to attend special meetings with regulators and planning sessions, in addition to attending all monthly meetings.
  • Leadership – Lise Kwekkeboom, Director of Marketing Services and an instrumental part of the marketing operations since ing the team at Casino Rama in 2004.
  • Lifetime Achievement – John Blair Morin, who sits on the Board of Directors of the River Cree Resort & Casino and it is an integral part of the gaming industry since 1991.
  • Employee of the Year – Robert Commanda, invaluable member Casino Rama’s team, and a leading technician.
