Bally’s Chicago Casino has taken steps to address human trafficking by introducing a specialized training program for employees. The initiative, launched on Monday in recognition of Human Trafficking Awareness Month, aims to educate staff on identifying and responding to potential trafficking situations within the casino environment.
As part of its efforts, Bally’s Chicago has begun hosting weekly training sessions designed to inform employees about the signs of human trafficking and how it may manifest within their surroundings. The program equips team with tools to recognize potential trafficking cases and encourages them to take appropriate action if they suspect any unlawful activity.
Monica Scott, Bally’s Chicago Vice President of Community Engagement, emphasized the importance of individual awareness in making a collective impact. “As part of Human Trafficking Awareness Month, we were pleased to launch our Chicago anti-human trafficking awareness program,” Scott stated. “Knowing that just one person can make a big impact, team will use the variety of tools in their role to ensure trafficking is not present in our property and Bally’s will continue to encourage a culture of compliance with our internal reporting policies. With Bally’s Chicago’s launch of the program, we believe that the progressive initiative will help fight human trafficking in each community we serve.”
In addition to the training initiative, Bally’s Chicago introduced a donation-driven promotion called “Give $5, Get $10” to the Chicago Alliance Against Sexual Exploitation (CAASE). Throughout January, Bally Rewards had the opportunity to contribute to the cause while receiving free play credits in return.
Participants in the program received varying levels of free play based on their tier status within the Bally Rewards system:
Through these contributions, Bally’s Chicago and its patrons collectively raised $5,000 to aid CAASE in its mission to combat sexual exploitation in Chicago, Illinois.
The collaboration between Bally’s Chicago and CAASE underscores a shared commitment to addressing human trafficking and sexual exploitation.
Saunté Harden-Tate, Community Engagement Coordinator for CAASE, expressed gratitude for the casino’s initiative. “We are thankful that Bally’s Chicago Casino has taken it upon themselves to help fight the threat of human trafficking both in their facility and in the community,” Harden-Tate said. “Their efforts to educate their employees on the signs of trafficking and their generous donation to our organization will both have a positive impact on our vision to see a world free of sexual exploitation and the prevention of sexual harm.”
By combining employee training with community-driven fundraising, Bally’s Chicago Casino aims to strengthen awareness and prevention efforts against human trafficking while ing local advocacy initiatives.
