Betfred Signs First US Betting Deal with Elite Casino Resorts Iowa

Betfred, the UK betting operator is set to make a debut in the United States through a sports betting deal with Iowa’s Elite Casino Resorts.

The privately-held betting operator announced on Wednesday the g of the sports betting technology and operations agreement with the above brand, which owns and operates three gaming venues in the state of Iowa. The Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission issued a license for Betfred’s local subsidiary on July 10, 2019.

It seems that, for the time being, the retail aspect of the company’s deal is limited to Elite’s Grand Falls Casino and Golf Resort in Larchwood but Betfred will also provide a statewide online and mobile wagering product. The state’s governor signed the betting legislation and made it law in May.

According to the deal, the operator’s main job will be to provide everything from trading, payments, customer , marketing, anti-fraud and compliance duties. The United Kingdom-based betting company also teamed up with Nevada-based SCCG management to help plan and pinpoint further US market opportunities. SCCG is an internationally recognized consultancy focused on global sports betting, esports and casino entertainment industries.
