Borgata Invests $11M Into Sports Betting Lounge

Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa is getting ready to make a massive $11 million investment for expanding the sports betting lounge space in this Atlantic City venue.

The MGM Resorts International-owned property was very quick to react to New Jersey Governor’s g of the bill that permitted licensed casinos to conduct sportsbook business in the city…

…Only three days after that, The Race & Sportsbook made its debut on June 14th. That way Borgata – one of the top performing casinos in AC – delivered on its confident promise that it is uniquely prepared to take sport wagers from day one they’re made legal.

Steady Development at the Forefront of Sports Betting:

In the midst of issues facing Ocean Resorts Casino – mostly due to a fierce competition in Atlantic City – there’s a bit of good news for visitors of this famous gambling hub – particularly those who favor sports betting.

The new sportsbook lounge will combine, as reported, a brand-new bar with a wide array of sports betting options. The aim is to open the new lounge as early as this summer.

Comments facility’s President and Chief Operating Officer Marcus Glover:

Being the first casino in Atlantic City to open the sportsbook, it is no wonder that it has managed to make another piece of history…

…by becoming the first ever casino in the city to accept a legal sports bet!

In August last year, Borgata successfully launched the playMGM NJ Sports mobile sports betting app, in cooperation with GVC Holdings. They were only beaten to it by DraftKings who was the first to kick off mobile sports wagering in New Jersey.

The casino’s ambition should be alleviated and even boosted by Atlantic City’s officials’ ideas to bolster the city’s tourism rates by aiming a full-on marketing campaign at outsiders willing to come to the city and gamble.

For this purpose, the New Jersey Casino Reinvestment Developing Authority has approved the $6.7 million budget – a 10% increase from last year.

They have solid grounds to base their optimism on – the city saw its revenue soar by 20% in November for a total of $247.65 million in gross gaming revenue. This prompted Casino Control Commission’s chairman James Plousis to declare that “the stage is set for 2018 to be the third straight year of growth in Atlantic City.”
