Caesars Entertainment has officially launched its first in-person sportsbook operation in Oregon, forming a strategic alliance with the Coquille Indian Tribe to mark its entry into the state’s land-based sports betting market.
The debut coincided with a major milestone for the tribe’s flagship property, Ko-Kwel Casino Resort | Coos Bay—formerly The Mill Casino—which celebrated its 30th anniversary on the same day. The occasion was marked by the ceremonial placement of the first sports wager via Caesars Sportsbook-branded self-service kiosks located throughout the casino floor.
This launch marks Caesars’ initial foray into Oregon’s in-person sports betting sector. Although digital wagering is available statewide through a separate operator, Oregon’s mobile platforms currently do not allow betting on college sports. Caesars’ new offering at Ko-Kwel Casino fills that gap, providing college sports wagering exclusively for on-site visitors.
With a broad array of betting options available at the kiosks, including player props, live in-game betting, futures, and same-game parlays, Caesars brings its signature sportsbook experience to guests aged 21 and over. The retail offering provides sports fans with access to markets currently inaccessible via the state’s mobile betting infrastructure.
“Bringing our sports wagering offering to a new jurisdiction for the first time is always significant,” said Eric Hession, President of Caesars Digital. “We remain committed to ing Indian gaming and enhancing the guest experience through partnerships like this.”
The partnership reflects Caesars’ broader expansion strategy across North America. The company recently finalized a deal with EveryMatrix in April 2025 to integrate new slot content across five Ontario. Additionally, in March 2024, Caesars Sportsbook earned RG Check accreditation from Ontario’s Responsible Gambling Council, signaling its continued focus on player protection and responsible gaming practices.
The new retail sportsbook in Oregon aligns with this mission. The company enforces a strict 21+ policy across all its platforms and properties, ensuring individuals under that age are restricted from accessing Caesars Rewards and gaming services. Caesars also pioneered one of the industry’s earliest responsible gambling initiatives, Project 21, dating back to 1989.
Margaret Simpson, CEO of the Coquille Economic Development Corporation, expressed enthusiasm for the new venture. “We are proud to have this iconic gaming brand us, as both brands have represented excellence in the industry for decades. This partnership aligns perfectly with our commitment to advancing gaming opportunities and enhancing guest satisfaction,” she said.
The self-service kiosks, described by Caesars as best-in-class, have been installed in easily accessible areas within the Ko-Kwel Casino Resort. Both Caesars and the Coquille Indian Tribe emphasized that this launch reflects their shared dedication to delivering gaming experiences in a responsible and guest-centric environment.
By partnering with the Coquille Indian Tribe, Caesars not only reinforces its retail sportsbook presence but also strengthens its long-standing for Oregon sports betting landscape evolves, this collaboration positions both parties at the forefront of in-person wagering experiences in the region.
