Colorado Division of Gaming Opens 2025 Responsible Gaming Grant Applications

The Colorado Division of Gaming has announced the launch of its 2025 Responsible Gaming Grants application process, inviting nonprofit organizations to apply for funding to responsible gambling initiatives. This grant program aims to enhance the state’s commitment to safe and responsible gaming by funding projects focused on addiction treatment, educational programs, counseling, and other services that mitigate gambling-related harms.

Application Process and Important Deadlines

The Division of Gaming is currently accepting applications, with a final submission deadline of December 1, 2024, at 5 p.m. Interested nonprofits and state agencies must complete their applications on the Division of Gaming’s Responsible Gaming Grant webpage. Eligible applicants are encouraged to carefully review the program’s criteria, as only certain types of projects and organizations will be considered for funding.

The review process will include an evaluation by the Colorado Limited Gaming Control Commission (CLGCC), with recommendations scheduled for their February 20, 2025, meeting. Selected grant recipients will receive funding allocations throughout 2025, following the Commission’s review and approval process. The CLGCC meeting will take place at 1707 Cole Blvd., Suite 300, Lakewood, CO 80401. Organizations that do not meet eligibility criteria or are disqualified will be notified promptly by the Division of Gaming.

Eligibility and Grant Requirements

The Responsible Gaming Grant Program is open to nonprofit organizations and state programs that directly address problem gambling, addiction recovery, hotline services, and educational or advocacy efforts. To qualify, applicants must demonstrate the capability to complete all required reporting and attend necessary meetings associated with the grant. Ineligible applications include those requesting funding for capital projects, as the grant is strictly for program-related expenses.

Organizations that have previously received funding under this program but failed to meet reporting requirements will be ineligible to apply this year. Additionally, any application found to contain misrepresentations or deliberate omissions will be automatically disqualified from consideration.

In 2024, the Colorado Limited Gaming Control Commission awarded over $1.96 million in grants to responsible gaming initiatives.
