The state of Delaware has reported a big decline in sports betting revenue for the month of March, compared to the same period last year: 64.3%, to $571,486, from $1.6 million last year.
Still, the monthly total is much higher than February 2020’s figure – 257.6% higher, from $159,800.

…players placed 3.9 million in sports bets in March, which was a massive drop from $10.5 million in the same month last year. The reason for this is that there were a lot less sporting events this March.
Delaware Park was the highest-grossing venue in Delaware – their income was $340,100 from $2.3 million wagered during the month. This is a 67.3% decline in revenue. Player spending fell 65.2%.
The runner-up in of revenue was Harrington Raceway, which generated $125,889 in revenue. This is a 55% fall from last year, while consumers spent $834,824 – 53.6% less.
Dover Downs came third with $105,487 in revenue, which was down 67.9% from last year. Player spending slipped 65.2% to $730,515.
Looking at it on a yearly basis…
…sports betting in Delaware amounted to $2.2 million, which is a 29% fall from 2019’s $3.1 million.
These figures come one week after Delaware Lottery reported numbers on iGaming…
…which were quite different than these, with revenue rising instead of falling.
Licensed operators generated $514,959 during the month, which was 78.3% higher than the March 2019’s $288,745. This figure is also 58% higher than February’s $324,958. Player spending rose 12.3% year on year as well.
Dover Downs overtook Delaware Park and became the market leader in March, posting $213,188 in iGaming revenue, with customers spending $8.2m.
