Detroit’s trio of casinos—MGM Grand Detroit, MotorCity Casino, and Hollywood Casino at Greektown—collectively reported $98.8 million in monthly aggregate revenue. This marks the first instance in over a year where monthly revenues have fallen below the $100 million threshold. The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) detailed that table games and slots contributed $98.0 million, while retail sports betting added $815,561 to the total.
The February 2025 revenue reflects a 6.4% decrease compared to the same month in the previous year and a 4.2% decline from January 2025’s figures. Despite this downturn, the year-to-date revenue for 2025 stands at $200.3 million, slightly suring the $198.7 million recorded during the same period in 2024.
Breaking down the February 2025 revenues:
In February 2025, the three casinos in Detroit, Michigan collectively paid $7.9 million in state gaming taxes, a slight decrease from the $8.5 million paid in February 2024. Additionally, they reported $11.7 million in wagering taxes and development agreement payments to the City of Detroit for the month.
