Florida’s non-tribal slot operations continue to demonstrate positive growth, as November’s revenues reached $56.5 million, according to a report from the Florida Gaming Control Commission (FGCC). This figure represents a 3.4% increase compared to the $54.6 million collected in November 2023. Moreover, this marks the strongest monthly revenue performance since May, when total earnings hit $59.6 million, further underscoring the sector’s steady recovery and upward trajectory.
Month-to-month performance also paints an optimistic picture, with November revenue showing a significant 5.7% jump from October’s total of $53.4 million. The upward trend benefits not only the operators but also the state treasury, which received $19.8 million in taxes during November. The state levies a 35% tax on revenue generated from slot operations.
Among Florida’s eight non-tribal slot venues, Magic City Casino in Miami emerged as the most substantial contributor to November’s revenue. The facility reported earnings of $10.9 million, solidifying its position at the forefront of Florida’s regulated gambling sector.
Pompano Park came in second, generating $10.1 million in revenue for the month. Other significant earners included Hialeah Park Casino with $8.8 million, Calder Casino contributing $7.6 million, and Casino Miami adding $7.5 million. These contributions highlight the diverse distribution of Florida’s casino revenue among the state’s metropolitan gaming locations.
Revenue contributions from smaller venues include the Casino at Dania Beach, which brought in $4.2 million, Gulfstream Park earning $4.1 million, and The Big Easy Casino, which reported a total of $3.3 million. Despite being comparatively smaller contributors, these casinos still represent a vital part of Florida’s gaming ecosystem.
A breakdown of industry activity reveals broader patterns of engagement and spending. November showcased higher player participation compared to previous months, ed by a stronger influx of promotional credits utilized to attract players. Across the year to date, Florida slot operators have witnessed a gradual improvement in their daily revenue per machine. November’s revenue figures further underscore this encouraging trend, as many venues achieved their highest single-month performances for the fiscal year.
While Florida’s licensed gambling operations display consistent growth, the industry continues to face challenges posed by unauthorized operators. To address this, state regulators intensified efforts to identify and dismantle illegal gaming operations. Recent investigations by the FGCC led to the confiscation of over 500 unregulated gaming machines and several arrests. These enforcement actions aim to protect the state’s regulated venues from unfair competition while preserving public confidence in legal gaming activities.
The consistent rise in slot revenue suggests sustained consumer interest and confidence in Florida’s regulated gaming industry. Licensed operators are leveraging modern marketing tactics, enhanced gaming experiences, and compliance to attract steady crowds. This balanced growth highlights the importance of regulated operations and demonstrates the state’s dedication to fostering a thriving yet controlled gaming environment.
