Hard Rock Atlantic City Testing Sports Betting

Situated in the USA’s second-largest gambling city, New Jersey’s Atlantic City, Hard Rock Casino, has officially begun offering sports betting on their property.

Just in time for the Super Bowl, the Atlantic City branch of the famous casino and entertainment chain…

…has gained legal permission from New Jersey’s Division of Gaming Enforcement to begin testing the equipment and the system for sports wagering.

Still not Official

The governmental agency approved only a “soft-testing” of sports betting for now, with plans of making it fully legal.

Hard Rock Atlantic City’s Casino President, Joe Lupo, said that the istration is hoping the online and in-person sports betting will be available for everyone before the Super Bowl on February the 3rd.

Last in Line

This casino will be the last one in Atlantic City that has ed the sportsbook race. Actually…

…Hard Rock will be the eighth casino to offer sports betting, and the city has nine casinos in total.

For now, the only casino that doesn’t have it in this New Jersey city is Caesars, but their guests can use a sportsbook at neighboring sister property, Bally’s.

Sports Betting in New Jersey

Just a few weeks after the US Supreme Court overturned the sports betting ban, New Jersey’s Assembly and Senate ed a sports betting bill…

…and officially legalized this type of wagering, allowing other US states to follow in their footsteps.

The first sports wager was placed by the New Jersey governor, Phil Murphy. The only state that started offering sports betting before NJ was Delaware and they did it at the beginning of June. For now, only eight US states have officially legalized sports betting on their grounds.

In January, New Jersey’s officials reported that the state sured over $1 billion in gross revenue from sports betting and online gambling in the past year. The state gained $10.4 million in sports betting taxes…

…in the past six months only!

“New Jersey’s sportsbooks are in a position to generate a $100 million handle from just that single game, which is the most significant single sports-betting event in the U.S.,” said Dustin Gouker, lead sports betting analyst.

A Word on Hard Rock Brand

The Hard Rock Cafe International brand is owned by Florida’s Seminole Indian Tribe. The famous entertainment chain has venues in 74 countries across the globe, including 12 casinos, 185 cafes and 25 hotels.
