Browns' Johnny Manziel spotted gambling at Vegas Casino before Game

Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel was reportedly seen gambling and dining at Las Vegas’ Planet Hollywood casino last night. This is peculiar, given that the Browns played the Pittsburgh Steelers at 1:00pm EST today.

Manziel was said to be at the team facilities Saturday morning, and later instagrammed a picture of himself with the location listed as Avon, Ohio. But USA Today reports that several Planet Hollywood workers and patrons saw the famed quarterback at the casino.

Cocktail waitress Tina Samira claims that she served Manziel at Planet Hollywood’s Heart Bar. A casino employee who viewed Manziel’s ID before he played blackjack was quoted as saying, “We’ve got Johnny Manziel with us tonight.”

The 23-year-old was ruled out of Cleveland’s game against Pittsburgh with a concussion. But given Manziel’s history and the fact that he’s still part of the team, it would be unacceptable for him to be across the country gambling and dining the night prior to a game.

Manziel’s troubles date back to the end of last season, when he overslept for the 2014 finale after partying with teammate Josh Gordon. He entered into alcohol rehab in the offseason and spent 10 weeks there.

Unfortunately, the problems didn’t end here because Manziel had several incidents during the 2015 NFL season including: a traffic stop where Manziel was pulled over for fighting with his then girlfriend, a video surfacing of him partying in Texas, and another video where he was drinking during Christmas.

The video that was taken in Texas actually got Manziel demoted to third string not long after he was named the starter for the remainder of the season. Manziel later regained the starting quarterback position, but was concussed in last week’s loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Earlier today, the Browns fired head coach Mike Pettine and G.M. Ray Farmer after a 28-12 loss to the Steelers dropped the team to 3-13. Considering that Cleveland has already begun cleaning house right after the season, it remains to be seen whether Manziel will be brought back for a third season.

A first-round pick of the Browns in 2014, Manizel has shown some on-field talent in six starts this season. However, his off-field incidents may ultimately force Cleveland to cut or trade him before the 2016 campaign begins.
