Dallas Cowboys RB Joseph Randle arrested at Kansas Casino

The fall from grace continues for former Dallas Cowboys running back Joseph Randle, who was recently arrested at a Kansas casino for an altercation.

Officials at Kansas Star Casino (Mulvane, KS) asked Randle to leave amid unspecified concerns about his behavior. The football player initially cooperated by leaving the casino; however, he soon returned and began arguing with security officers. Eventually, a scuffle broke out and multiple security officers had to restrain Randle; he was later taken to a local jail by police officers.

“He was belligerent and causing some problems on the casino floor,” said Fred Waller, an enforcement agent with the Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission. “The whys, I don’t know.”

No formal charges have been filed, but Randle remains behind bars on a $25,000 bond. He was taken to jail on suspicion of assaulting a police officer, battery, criminal threats, disorderly conduct and interfering with a law enforcement officer.

As mentioned before, this is only the latest legal trouble for the 24-year-old. Earlier this month, Randle was suspended for four games by the NFL for his personal conduct. The suspension came just one week after the Dallas Cowboys released him from their roster. Randle was away from the team while dealing with unstated personal problems when the Cowboys released him.

Last February, Randle was arrested in his hometown of Wichita, KS after a domestic disturbance; police did not pursue charges in this case. Randle’s legal troubles continues this year, when he was detained at a Dallas-area shopping mall for stealing cologne and underwear; he received deferred adjudication for this incident.

In his third year in the league, Randle was supposed to play a big role as the Cowboys’ starting running back. And he initially did, starting the first six games of the season and gaining 315 rushing yards on 76 carries. But Randle eventually lost his starting role to backup Darren McFadden, and this is where the troubles began.

The Oklahoma State product hasn’t played another game in the NFL since leaving Dallas to deal with personal issues. And it doesn’t look like he’ll move any closer to finding a new team after the casino arrest. Further news has yet to be released on what exactly Randle did at the casino and what potential punishment awaits him.
