Breaking down the revenue distribution, MGM Grand Detroit remained the clear market leader, securing 47% of the city’s casino revenue. When comparing April’s revenue to previous periods, a nuanced picture emerges. Overall, revenue from table games and slots decreased by 6.3% compared to March 2025, although there was a modest 1.5% increase year-over-year. Despite the sector-wide dip, MGM Grand Detroit posted a 2.5% revenue increase, totaling $51.1 million. MotorCity Casino also saw a small rise of 1.2%, reaching $33.1 million. An additional area of wagering, fantasy contests, showed promise in March 2025. Operators in this segment earned a combined profit of $634,191 and fulfilled their tax obligations by paying $53,272 in taxes. This suggests a growing but still limited niche within Detroit’s broader gaming ecosystem.
