Danish Gambling Authority, Spillemyndigheden, has just released the financial report for the third quarter of the year. According to the statement, local gambling operators have generated about DKK 1.61b (US $237.8m) over the previous three months. The result shows a slight decline of 1% compared to the same timeframe last year.
The official report depicts that online gambling revenues have dropped in the previous three months while the sports betting sector remains in the same verticals. Spillemyndigheden’s report showcases that sports betting income has fallen 3,8% compared to the same period last year. After a slight decline caused by the lack of Q3 2018’s FIFA World Cup, sports betting revenues reached DKK628m value.
Mobile gambling remains ahead of land-based and desktop wagering with a 49,3% share (compared to 33% and 17,6% share for previous industries). Despite mobile gaming dominance, it could be stated that the mobile sector has fallen for five points from the previous year, while the desktop gaming industry increased for seven points.
If we take into consideration overall online casino revenues for the Q3 of 2019, we could see the amount of DKK567m, which is a 10,5% decline from Q2 income. Previous numbers show an overall drop in revenues that occurred despite marketing efforts made by Danish operators over the first eight months of the year.
