The Danish Gambling Authority has approved an online gambling license for the duration of five years to operator, Casumo, which will be extending its strategic presence in regulated markets in this part of Europe by becoming available to players in this country.
The provider of gambling services, traditionally oriented towards Scandinavian lands, will be approaching Danish market with a focus on mobile…
…and will also run an extensive media campaign in order to promote online casino services to customers there.
According to Casumo’s CEO and co-founder, Oscar Simonsson, and his statement in the company’s official press release regarding this entry…
…securing the Danish license is an important milestone for the company and also a part of the ongoing strategy of entering and growing in regulated markets. This news comes soon after identical success was struck in Italy and Sweden, as the operator also managed to obtain necessary licenses there.
Simonsson said: “I’m confident that the Casumo brand will resonate well with the players in Denmark —those who want to experience a modern way of playing online casino. We have a very strong and unique product offering, which includes our very own custom-designed live casino studio, as well as the casino rewards system that Casumo pioneered in the industry when we launched in 2012.”
This bit of good news will be of great use for the company which was recently fined by the Dutch regulator – they were ordered to pay EUR 310,000 for targeting players in the country where online gambling is still illegal.
The iGaming operator in Denmark introduced a new set of conduct rules for operators in order to protect its growing segment of players…
…with a key aim being to “ensure a higher quality of consumer protection and lessen the risks the problem gambling poses.”
The Agreement on New Actions Against Gaming Addiction, which was introduced in March, will go in effect on July 1st , should establish ground rules for setting limits and offering tools that will help operators protect customers in Denmark.
Denmark is the only European nation that has fully adhered to guidelines by EU and implemented them thoroughly under their own jurisdiction.
The country’s online gambling market is thriving, as last December’s figures reveal that a new record in revenue has been set in the third quarter of 2018. The total income for that period reached $247 million, although this has, in fact, been a slight drop from the quarter before.

Good luck to Casumo in Denmark. Should be doing good there, it’s a very well-regulated market.
