Penn National Starts Sportsbooks In Mississippi

Mississippi casinos this month. On August 17th, Boomtown Casino Biloxi and Hollywood Casino Gulf Coast formally opened their sportsbooks, whilst Hollywood, 1st Jackpot, and Resorts Casinos in Tunica will go live on August 24th.

The group recently signed a deal with FanDuel after receiving the official gambling license to operate in West Virginia. Wagering on sports within the state’s borders commenced at two reputable venues – Hollywood Casino Charles Town and The Greenbrier, with others soon to follow.

After expanding its network of resorts, sportsbooks and even kiosks for placing wagers throughout the country, Timothy Wilmott, CEO at Penn National, commented that the excitement within the company has grown immensely behind the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn federal ban on sports betting. By providing five of its patrons with sports wagering services, the company will bring additional betting venues to portfolio, taking the market-leading position.
