Legal sports betting has been officially up and running in Pennsylvania since November 2018…
…and now the wagers from this northeastern US state have the exclusive opportunity to enjoy legal off-track sports betting at a South Philadelphia Turf Club.
After the US Supreme Court lifted their ban on sports betting in America in May of 2018, Pennsylvania was one of the first states that introduced their bill and fully legalized sports betting under their jurisdiction.
Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course and Parx Casino…
…were the first two gambling institutions that were allowed to launch sports wagering in the state of Pennsylvania.
Thanks to Kambi, a leading provider of sports betting and technology services, the new sportsbook is launched at South Philadelphia Turf Club, a property owned by Greenwood Gaming and Entertainment Inc. The same company holds the ownership at the Parx Casino and Racing as well.
Just last week, Parx, the largest casino resort in Pennsylvania situated just 20 minutes north of Center City Philadelphia, has launched its full sportsbook offering at their property, in cooperation with Kambi as well.
And now, after the approval from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB)…
…the company has decided to launch another sportsbook in another one of their facilities!
“The prime location of the South Philadelphia Turf Club offers Kambi a unique platform to reach some of Philadelphia’s most ionate sports fans who when going to their teams also want some skin in the game,” chief commercial officer of Kambi, Max Meltzer, said.
“Today’s successful launch provides further evidence of Kambi’s ability to deliver for its partners both online and on-property in a short space of time, making us the trusted choice for those looking to leverage their strong brand and provide their customers with high-quality sports betting experiences,” Meltzer added.
South Philadelphia Turf Club is located in a true sports neighborhood…
…right by the Citizen’s Bank Field, home of the famous professional baseball team, the Philadelphia Phillies.
Also, the club is close to the Lincoln Financial Field and Stadium, the home of professional American football team, Philadelphia Eagles. This is quite a good news for all the fans who wish to legally bet on their home team.
Kambi, for now, maintains four out of five on-property sportsbooks in the state of Pennsylvania, while Greenwood Gaming and Entertainment also plans on launching another Kambi-powered sportsbook in Valley Forge Turf Club.
This software development company has more plans with Parx regarding setting up an online sportsbook…
…after PGCB gives their approval first.
Teh facility has also signed a deal with GAN, a software development company, ing their technology in order to feature online sports betting at the casino’s official website.
Pennsylvania saw a successful closure to a year in which it has made sports betting legal. Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board revealed that a December’s total revenue made from this gaming branch came to a total of $2 million.
Acting on the law, the state regulator and Pennsylvania’s various social programmes received $682,225 from the imposed 34% taxes on gaming revenue.
