Steve Wynn Accused of Sexual Misconduct

Famous casino mogul and owner of multi-billion hotel resorts on the Strip and Macau, Steve Wynn, has been accused of decades-long sexual harassment, according to the Wall Street Journal. The Las Vegas billionaire dismissed all accusations and stated that the story’s mastermind, his ex wife Elaine Wynn, has already made similar attempts to regain her stake in Wynn Resorts.

Both inspired and encouraged by recent sexual misconduct allegations, a great deal of former and current employees have come forward to prosecute their boss for inhumane working conditions. Women have described their working environment as “sexualized workplace”, since many of them were pressured to unwanted sexual intercourse with Wynn.

Back in 2005, a former manicurist at Wynn Las Vegas resort accused the owner of sexual harassment, for which he had to pay a hefty $7.5M settlement to keep everything low profile! Today, the businessman is 76 years old, and still operates grandiose casino resorts on the Vegas Strip and Macau, while building a $2.4 billion resort in Massachusetts.

The accused casino owner is also politically active and represents one of the major Republican Party donors. After the presidential elections in 2017, when Donald Trump was inaugurated as the 45th president of the US, Wynn was selected as Finance Chairman of the Republican National Committee. However, he resigned two days ago when RNC chair, Ronna Romney McDaniel, confirmed his decision to step down.

Concerned board have also pointed their fingers at Mrs. Wynn, who has been trying to take over a large part of the company for over a decade. A group of independent investigators has been hired to look into the entire case, since Wynn Resorts is highly devoted to providing safe working environments.

The man who predicted Atlantic City troubles in the 1980s is among the top CEOs worldwide, nevertheless, his casino license for the Greater Boston area will be revoked if the Commission decides that its suitability and integrity have been disturbed by the allegations. The $2.4 billion investment along the Mystic River in Everett is expected to be launched in summer 2019.
