SugarHouse Begins Online Sportsbook Test in Pennsylvania

SugarHouse Casino, a casino entertainment development along the Delaware River in Philadelphia…

…is actually closer than ever to becoming the very first gambling operator that would launch its online and mobile sportsbook service in the regulated state of Pennsylvania.

Approved by the Regulator

The casino first started with its testing procedure, as instructed by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB).

SugarHouse took its first interactive wagers on May 28 afternoon during an eight-hour testing period that ran from 4 pm to midnight.

Further tests are due to take place on May 29 from 2 pm to midnight, then the day after from 12 pm to midnight.

The official launch of the online and mobile service offering will most likely take place at some point by the end of the month.

The new offering has been developed in partnership with sports betting technology provider, Kambi…

…and it will run together with a land-based sportsbook that launched at the venue in December of last year, and which is actually also powered by Kambi.

All players are required to first in-person at the SugarHouse Casino if they wish to place their interactive, online bets.

The launch of the online sportsbook marks the latest step in the very successful partnership between Rush Street and Kambi, which commenced in May last year.

It also covers sports betting activities in New Jersey and will potentially spread to Illinois and New York if the states finally decide to legalize sports betting.

More Details on the PA Revenue

SugarHouse is known all over the state as one of the leading operators in Pennsylvania since the state launched its regulated sports betting market.

During the month of April, this venue managed to generate a revenue of $781,163. Even though it is 36.9% lower than the revenue amassed during the month of March…

…the results nevertheless rank SugarHouse as the third most successful operator in Pennsylvania in April.

But, Who Was the Best?

Well, Greenwood Gaming and Entertainment’s Parx Casino sportsbook, that is also powered by Kambi, was the number-one market leader last month. The sportsbook had a revenue of $907,298.

Rivers Casino, the sister property of SugarHouse, came up second in April…

…with a revenue of $871,753 and a market-high handle of $8.2 million.

Media in Pennsylvania believe that Rivers will also launch interactive sports betting services in the next couple of days and will SugarHouse.

The PGCB still has not confirm this, but the regulatory body said that it expected additional licensees to begin applying for online permits in the next couple of weeks.

Online Gambling Market to Launch July 15

Back in April, it was announced that the state of PA would finally launch a regulated online gambling market

…and that it will most likely take place on July 15 of this year.

This information was also confirmed by executive director of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB), Kevin O’Toole.

He confirmed that all companies that received a license to operate in the state will be able to officially launch their casino and poker products in mid-July.
