The second week of October will bring the Oregon Lottery plenty of reasons to celebrate, as the institution officially launches its debut product- Scoreboard. The new web-based sports betting game from the OL will allow punters to place wagers on professional sports on the Internet.
Scoreboard will allow consumers in Oregon to bet on a wide selection of activities…
…such as professional football, basketball, tennis, baseball, soccer, golf, and NASCAR. Those who wish to place wagers will be able to do so in two ways- through the lottery’s website and on mobile. It’s important to point out that the app is available both for Apple and Android s.
For the time being, the game will only be used for betting on professional sports. Oregonians who want to place bets on college football and other NCAA sports will have to do so in person.
Even though the game platform is officially complete, the Oregon Lottery is still testing player s to ensure hassle-free financial transactions. After making sure that all transactions can run without any problems, OL will release the app.
Chuck Baumann of the Oregon Lottery commented on the creation as follows:
“This is the first time that the lottery has entered into an e-commerce game. This will be the first time we’ve offered a game — an Oregon lottery game — available online.”
Scoreboard will be connected with the world’s premier bookmakers…
… to provide some of the best odds, wagering styles, and game options for clients in the legal gaming industry. Moreover, the app will be packed with responsible gaming tools so punters can easily track the results from their plays.
The State Lottery in Oregon partnered up with SBTech in June…
… one of the largest sports platform suppliers to the launch of retail and mobile sportsbook offering in the Beaver State. As far as projected, the implementation is expected to come to life in Q1 of next year.
The initial ideas for strategic cooperation were announced back in April, when the rival bidder, Scientific Games protested against the confirmation that SBTech will take this position.
The developer’s lengthy experience in product design and players’ experience are the key contributors in fulfilling the main mission, which is generating additional revenue.
The OL’s officials predict that…
…upon the launch, the total handle for the three years is expected to be $1.6 billion. The huge part of this amount of wagers will be returned as winnings.
This difference between the handle and winnings will result in gross gaming revenue of $141.2 million.
