theScore Becomes Authorized Sports Betting Operator of NBA

The National Basketball Association has signed a new multiyear partnership, empowering theScore to gain access to its official betting data, league marks and logos. As an authorized sports betting operator, this publicly traded digital media company from Toronto, Canada will also collaborate with NBA on best-in-class practices for protecting the integrity of the league.

The bookmaker’s mobile sports betting app, theScore Bet, has over 4.3 million monthly active s and it launched only recently, in September 2019. It is also the first mobile sportsbook to be developed by a media company in North America.

New Sports Betting Experience

In the last couple of months, the National Basketball League signed multiple landmark deals with online gambling operators. Among the authorized betting partners of NBA is DraftKings, a sports betting company from Boston, Massachusetts also became the league’s authorized betting partner in November and gained access to league branding that is now displayed on their mobile app and retail sportsbooks.

Other online bookmakers, such as William Hill and Tabcorp entered the arrangement with NBA a month earlier, in October 2019.

John Levy, founder and CEO of theScore explains the significance of the agreement for the company:

Personalized Live Scores

Although theScore Bet app is currently available only in Google does not allow regulated gambling apps in the Play Store. Therefore, theScore Bet app can only be found on the official website.

Score Media and Gaming Inc. has recently announced the financial results for the last three months, showing a continuous rise in revenues and reaching 523 million monthly sessions on average during Q1 2020.

“It was a huge achievement by our product development team to create and launch a best-in-class, natively-built mobile sportsbook at the very beginning of F2020,” commented John Levy, founder and chief executive of theScore.

Total revenue for the last three months in 2019 was in the range of $9.2 million. In the meantime, theScore esports’ YouTube channel reached 5.6 million subscribers, which represents a 28% year-over-year growth.
