US iGaming Revenue Soars to $625.3 Million in June 2024

iGaming revenue for June 2024 across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Michigan, Connecticut, West Virginia, Delaware, and an estimated Rhode Island amounted to an impressive $625.3 million, a notable increase from $474.3 million in June 2023.

Pennsylvania

concluded June with $195.6 million. Despite being the lowest monthly revenue for the year, it significantly outperformed New Jersey and Michigan and was almost $60 million higher than June 2023’s $135.4 million.

Leading the iGaming revenue, Hollywood Casino at Penn National brought in $72.6 million, up from $57.8 million, while Valley Forge Casino followed with $46.3 million, compared to $28 million last year.

Revenue from online slots totaled $119.4 million, up from $98.2 million, and table games generated $39 million, an increase from $34.8 million. However, online poker saw a slight decline to $2.2 million from $2.4 million in June 2023.

Pennsylvania’s tax revenue from iGaming in June was $71.1 million, rising from just under $59 million in the same month last year.

New Jersey

In June, significant rise from $149.3 million in June 2023. For the first half of 2024, iGaming has won $1.13 billion compared to $930.8 million during the same period last year.

Golden Nugget maintained its dominance in iGaming with $51.5 million for June, up from $41.8 million. Resorts Digital secured second place with $48.6 million, up from $35.6 million, while Borgata came in third with $42.9 million, compared to $39.4 million in June 2023.

New Jersey collected $28 million in online gambling taxes in June, compared to $22.4 million last year.

Michigan

Michigan’s iGaming revenue reached $183.2 million in June 2024, a rise from $151 million year-over-year. For the first half of 2024, iGaming revenue has already exceeded $1 billion, precisely $1.16 billion, compared to $935 million in the same period in 2023. June marked the seventh consecutive month that iGaming revenue sured $180 million in Michigan.

The state’s 15 internet casinos paid a total of $34.4 million in taxes, compared to $28.4 million in June 2023. Of this total, $21.3 million went to the state, $8.8 million to Detroit, and $4.3 million to tribal governments.

Connecticut

Connecticut’s iGaming revenue for June was $33.7 million, the lowest since November, but up 33% from last year’s $26.7 million. DraftKings earned $17.4 million, the lowest since October, while FanDuel reported $16.2 million, compared to $11.8 million in June 2023.

The two companies contributed 18% in taxes to the state, totaling $6.1 million, up from $4 million year-over-year.

West Virginia

West Virginia’s iGaming revenue for June 2024 was $18.5 million, a notable increase from $10.8 million last year. The reporting period included 30 full days, concluding on June 30, the last day of the fiscal year. The previous year’s period was three days longer.

Delaware

Delaware’s June 2024 iGaming net revenue from Rush Street Interactive’s internet casino was $5 million, compared to $1.1 million from 888’s underperforming asset last year. Compared to May 2024, when RSI earned $3.9 million, the June figures show growth.

Online video lottery (slot) games generated $3.5 million, while table games brought in $1.5 million. Year-over-year comparisons are essentially meaningless due to the shift in operators. Online poker remains offline with no updates on its return.

Rhode Island

Rhode Island’s iGaming revenue is reported in the first week of the second month following the reporting period. For June, Bally’s, the sole operator, is estimated to have earned $2.5 million, based on $2 million in April and $2.3 million in May. The exact figures will be updated when available.
