William Hill Launches Online and Mobile Sports Betting in Virginia

Iconic betting operator, William Hill, has ed the recently launched sports betting scene in Virginia. The gambling brand has gone live in this US state with their online and mobile sportsbook offering.

The sports betting mobile app is built on Hill’s proprietary platform. It will let players place in-play and pre-game wagers from the territory of Virginia.

Just in Time

Via the app, players can sign up for the new , same as on William Hill’s desktop version of its online sportsbook.

William Hill US president of digital, Kenneth Fuchs said:

“Just in time for Sunday’s Super Bowl, our Virginia app will give football fans over 1,000 ways to bet this incredible matchup, from the opening coin toss to whether the game will be decided in overtime.”

William Hill has thus ed FanDuel, DraftKings and BetMGM, as well as Rush Street Interactive with their own sports betting launch in Virginia.

The regulator, Virginia Lottery, has given away 26 sports betting vendor licenses to their s, data suppliers and payment providers.

William Hill offers mobile sports betting in ten US states being active in Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, West Virginia and Washington, DC.

The Market Launch

In late January, Virginia’s sports betting market opened with FanDuel

…when a first wager was placed on an NBA game.

The sports betting was approved in 2020 in Virginia, and FanDuel beat other interested operators to market by affiliating with the Washington Football Team which stirred some controversy.

FanDuel’s CMO also noted the importance of Super Bowl and said that there really is no other day throughout the year where we can get more people to try our sportsbook than the Super Bowl.

All the sports betting in Virginia will be initially done via mobile. The physical, brick and mortar sports betting will be made possible eventually.
