WSOP 2025 Opens with Mystery Millions and High-Stakes Action

World Series of Poker (WSOP) is officially underway in Las Vegas as of Tuesday, May 27, 2025. Hosted across Paris Las Vegas and the Horseshoe, the event draws players from across the globe and marks the beginning of what promises to be an action-packed summer on the felt.

Week One of the series begins with the popular $1,000 Mystery Millions tournament, which returns with its signature twist: secret bounty prizes worth up to $1 million. Alongside this marquee event, poker fans and industry professionals can expect bracelet action, elite-level competition, and new technology enhancing the WSOP experience.

Mystery Millions Returns With $1M Bounties and Five Flights

Headlining the opening week is the Mystery Millions No-Limit Hold’em tournament, which combines traditional poker with high-stakes mystery bounty rewards on Day Two. Two players will uncover $1 million bounties in sealed envelopes, with numerous additional prizes in the five- and six-figure range also in play.

This tournament offers five Day One flights:

  • Flight A: Tuesday, May 27 at 12 PM
  • Flight B: Wednesday, May 28 at 10 AM
  • Flight C: Thursday, May 29 at 10 AM
  • Flight D: Friday, May 30 at 10 AM
  • Flight E: Saturday, May 31 at 10 AM

Players must advance to Day Two for a shot at claiming one of the coveted bounties.

WSOP+ App Introduced for Faster Registration

In a move designed to streamline operations, the WSOP+ app—first used during WSOP Paradise in 2024—makes its full debut in Las Vegas. The app allows players to by in-person lines and online for bracelet events after a one-time verification process at the Champagne Ballroom inside Paris’ convention center.

Though WSOP+ live coverage hasn’t launched yet, players are already using it to pre-, link Caesars Rewards s, and manage their schedules from their devices.

Bracelet Contests and Ceremonies in the Spotlight

Nine bracelet events are scheduled between May 27 and May 31, offering multiple formats and buy-in levels. Key early events include:

  • Event #2: $500 Industry Employees NLH (May 27 at 2 PM)
  • Event #3: $5,000 Eight-Handed NLH (May 28 at 12 PM)
  • Event #4: $1,500 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better (May 28 at 2 PM)
  • Event #5: $5,000 Pot-Limit Omaha (May 29 at 12 PM)
  • Event #7: $25,000 Heads-Up No-Limit Hold’em Championship (May 30 at 12 PM)

Bracelet ceremonies are held at 12:25 PM the day following each event’s conclusion, unless declined by the winner.

Projected ceremony dates include:

  • Event #2: Thursday, May 29
  • Event #4: Saturday, May 31
  • Event #3 & #5: Sunday, June 1

Las Vegas Poker Summer Heats Up Across the Strip

While WSOP is the centerpiece, other major poker festivals are running simultaneously throughout Las Vegas. The Wynn Summer Classic, ARIA Poker Classic, and Grand Poker Series at the Golden Nugget are among the high-profile events offering millions in guarantees this summer.
