Renowned American company, MGM Resorts International, gained yet another award that just shows how outstanding this company is, year after year.
At the 12th annual Sports Business Awards, MGM was named “Breakthrough of the Year” by the Sports Business Journal and Sports Business Daily…
…which is a division of Street and Smith’s.
The award was officially given to MGM Resorts representatives at the Sports Business Awards Ceremony in New York last week.
The CEO and Chairman of MGM Resorts, Jim Murren, revealed last year that the company signed a historic business deal…
…when MGM became the “Official Gaming Partner of the NBA and WNBA.”
By doing so, MGM became the first sports betting operator in the US that partnered up with a professional sports league in this category.
The CEO denoted that, through this deal, MGM Resorts brought millions of basketball fans and guests together in both an innovative and collaborative way.
During the process, it has been laying the foundation and setting expectations for all other partnerships, while also changing the way that consumers interact with sports betting operators, clubs and leagues alike.

Also, this Nevada-based company is the official owner of the WNBA’s Las Vegas Aces, Las Vegas’ first professional basketball team and is a t venture partner in T-Mobile Arena, home of the NHL’s Vegas Golden Knights.
The renowned Sports Business Awards was launched for the first time back in 2008 by Sports Business Journal and Sports Business Daily.
The awards were established to celebrate and recognize the leaders, visionaries and day-to-day practitioners who are the synonym for excellence in the business of sports.
