The British Esports Association has just unveiled a brand-new campaign dedicated to women. The aim of the campaign is to celebrate the female population within the sector.
The Esports fans. Presently, we can speak about 30.4% of female viewership in esports. This is the information for Q4 2018 released by Interpret. However, this number has increased by 6.5% over the previous years. This industry is ready to accept more women players and embrace new leaders within the sector.
According to official information, females have participated in the British Esports Championships for schools and colleges. Additionally, women from the Farnborough Falcons League of Legends and Overwatch squads took part in finals at the NEC Birmingham competition. The Association observed a rising interest in the sector and it wants to female players to boost their careers in the same industry.
The British Esports Association has launched a female campaign to increase awareness and participation in the esports industry. The same was previously achieved with well-known organizations like Women in Games, Women of Esports, AnyKey, and Female Legends. British Esports Association is a national body that helps in the development of the esports industry and delivers advice and expertise. As disclosed by Associaton, the campaign will include several scopes:
The Association has disclosed that the Women in Esports Campaign doesn’t have an end date. It means that association will be organizing numerous activities via the same-named campaign. It will include social media campaigns, interviews all over the website, Twitch channel, YouTube and similar.
Those responsible for running the project are liaison officer, Alice Leaman and marketing manager, Morgan Ashurst.
According to Ashurst:
“It’s pinnacle at the British Esports Association that we are providing advice from numerous perspectives. The challenges and experiences I have faced personally are something for other females to be aware of when entering the scene and worthwhile knowledge to over to aspiring esports fanatics.”
Liaison officer Leaman observed:
“By celebrating and ing women in esports we can help increase awareness of the accessibility and inclusivity of esports. Competitive videogaming is enjoyed by diverse audiences worldwide, and by learning about different women involved, and how many have overcome challenges, we can help wider UK talent to get involved from the grassroots up.”
The Association was founded in 2016 as a non-profit organization. The goal of the body is to promote esports opportunities across the UK. It is dedicated to mass education about the benefits of esports and its meaning. The motto of the body is to Promote, Improve and Inspire.
