Cyber Threats Become the New Norm for Gaming Industry, Says Caesars' SVP
June 20, 2018 Kim Morrison
Caesars Entertainment in Mississippi has started hiring sports betting management, as it gets ready to introduce sports betting services at Biloxi’s Harrah’s Gulf Coast and Horseshoe Tunica. The job postings are available on several employment-oriented websites, however, top-level positions are yet to be listed. Currently, other relevant ads include supervisor positions and ticket writers for the properties; it is obvious that the company is preparing a full-scale launch in the period, probably at the end of Summer.
Meanwhile, there have been no postings for Caesars’ New Jersey properties, meaning that an existing team of employees in Vegas will probably be transferred to key Atlantic City positions. In addition, MGM Resorts’ sportsbook is already up and running at Borgata Casino, which also has numerous job ads for sportsbook positions at its other two venues – Beau Rivage Casino in Biloxi and Gold Strike Casino in Tunica.
Although the expansion of sports wagering in the U.S. moves up quickly, other casinos in the Magnolia State such as Pen National have not published any sports betting job postings, despite having several properties within the state’s borders. Furthermore, Lady Luck Casino in Vicksburg, which recently got purchased by Churchill Downs, is not making any new postings for a corporate director of online gaming development either.
It seems that the only two venues in the state that took sports wagering seriously are looking for new ways to get busy, and while MGM and Caesars integrate various exclusive gambling opportunities, others remain pretty silent – whether a significant policy change will occur is a mystery and there are many operators that yet have to define their businesses, including Ameristar Casino Hotel Vicksburg, DiamondJacks Casino & Hotel, Fitz Casino & Hotel Tunica, Hollywood Casino Bay St. Louis and more.
