Long-Term Deal Sets Stage for BetMGM’s Entry into Missouri

Under the of the deal, BetMGM will operate both mobile and online sports betting platforms through Century’s license. In exchange, Century will receive a share of the net gaming revenue, backed by a minimum guaranteed amount. Additionally, Century has the option to develop and run retail sportsbook locations at its discretion.

This timeline follows the age of Amendment 2 in the November 2024 election, a voter-approved measure that legalized sports betting in Missouri. The legislation becomes effective on August 30, providing a window for regulators to process license applications.

Up to 14 licenses for online sportsbooks are expected to be issued, distributed among casinos, professional sports franchises, and two standalone “untethered” licenses. Industry analysts anticipate these will likely be awarded to prominent players such as DraftKings and FanDuel.
