Chris Armes has been appointed to the position of chief information officer at GiG, according to company officials. The responsibility of developing the company’s technology strategy will not fall to Armes and he will be reporting directly to Robin Reed, the chief executive officer, forming the part of the C-Level management team.
Armes, who previously held the position of chief technology officer at NYX Gaming/SG Digital, will take strategic responsibility for GiG’s multiple technology assets, ultimately strengthening its position as the B2B partner and operator of choice in the iGaming industry.
While working for NYX and Oracle, Chris managed to accumulate a lot of experience, having performed more than 60 M&As throughout his career. Gaming Innovation Group is largely looking into being more value accretive for larger and more complex customer across the globe and Armes will ensure the robust and secure delivery of tech solutions to existing and new customers.
In addition to Armes, the company has also recently hired Jonathan Gauci as SVP of technology, to further strengthen his team. We also see Stephen Borg entering the company as director of data and Jan Flores becoming the director of production operations. These recently employments are happening because the company is gearing up its management to oversee the roll-out of the next generation of the new platform services, data and front-end platforms with an aim to be the platform of choice in iGaming.
