Churchill Downs Kickstarts A Sportsbook In Mississippi

Two casino properties in Mississippi that operate under the umbrella of Churchill Downs Inc. are launching sports betting platforms, according to the company’s latest press release.

Sports wagering will kickstart in Greenville and Vicksburg, covering numerous sporting events and US collegiate sports. Both venues, Harlow’s Casino Resort & Spa and Riverwalk Casino Hotel will get under way as part of BetAmerica, whose brand plans to expand to other states where sportsbooks have been legalized.

More Than 100 Channels

Chief Executive at CDI, Bill Carstanjen, said in an interview that the legalization of sports wagering in The Magnolia State is a huge opportunity for the company to deliver and enhance its top-class products, whose standards will sur customers’ expectations by far and wide. Sportsbooks under BetAmerica will feature gigantic monitors, covering over 100 channels of sporting events, championships and feeds.

Carstanjen also used the opportunity to look back at a recently signed deal with SBTech. The partnership allowed CDI to enter into the New Jersey market, as well as Pennsylvania’s highly advanced retailers. Moreover, the group was previously awarded a license to manufacture and provide sports betting platforms within the Mississippi’s borders.

Additional Services

At the same time, the deputy director of the Mississippi Gaming Commission, Jay McDaniel, said that the companies will also integrate odds and risk-management services. In like manner, William Hill USA is already encouraging the launch of sports betting platforms at five casinos operated by Penn National Gaming. The deal includes Boomtown Casino Biloxi, Hollywood Casino Gulf Coast, Hollywood, 1st Jackpot, and Resorts Casinos in Tunica.
