Delaware Reports Growth in iGaming Revenue for March, $319,597 from Video Lottery Games

March seems to be more than fruitful for Delaware’s online gambling industry, at least if things are to judge by the most recent reports. As far as the figures show, the Delaware Lottery has reported another year-on-year increase in online gambling revenue during this month.

Moreover, licensed providers generated quite a significant amount of $514,959 during the month. The biggest contribution to the total amount came from video lottery games.

Comparing the Figures

Online gaming revenue in the Diamond State for the year to the end of March amounted to $1.2m, up 44.7% from $842,978 at the same point in 2019. A growth was noticed in player spending as well, as it was up by 17.8% year-on-year to $36.5m.

Last month’s total…

…was 78.3% higher than the $288,745 reported in March 2019. Besides this, the figure was also 58.5% higher than $324,958 posted in February this year. Player spending also jumped 12.3% year-on-year to $16.4m.

Video Lottery Games Lead the Way

As the numbers reveal, video lottery games were responsible for $319,597 of overall revenue in March. On the other hand, the contribution from online table games was significantly lower, as they generated a total of $137,673.

Apart from this…

…$57,690 was collected through online poker rake and fees, as the Delaware Lottery noted.

Dover Downs overtook Delaware Park to become the market leader in March, posting $213,188 in iGaming revenue, with customers spending $8.2m in the process.

Delaware Park slipped to second with $178,288 in revenue off a total customer spend of $4.7m for the month. Harrington Raceway, the only other licensed operator in the state, posted $123,583 in revenue from $3.1m in total wagers.

Brief Recap of Previous Year

The situation with Delaware Park and Dover Downs was drastically different than the previous year. With $7.8 million in revenue, after taking $64.1 million in bets, Park was an undisputed leader. To compare, Dover collected $2.6 million in revenue during the same period.

As for Harington Raceway…

…which consistently takes the third place, the revenue was $2.2 million, which represents a 120% increase from one million in 2018. Besides, the player’s wagers reported a significant boost of 72.6% from $10.2M to $17.6M.

Looking at the entire year month by month, the revenue was fluctuating, with some notably positive months, and the others reporting surprisingly low amount.

One of the most prominent months was…

September 2019, when the record was broken with $384,830. In total, players acquired $11.4 million from iGaming in September. $7.7 million of that was won on table games while $3.7 million was scored on lottery.
