Flutter Entertainment’s FanDuel has partnered up with North America’s Major League Baseball (MLB) to become their authorized gaming partner. The deal marks the sports wagering and daily fantasy sports operator’s first official deals with either the MLB or its franchises.
Through the multi-year arrangement, FanDuel will gain access to official MLB data. This also includes team branding and logos, which will be utilized across its web-based sports wagering hubs and at retail sportsbook locations.
The daily fantasy sports provider becomes the third authorized gaming partner of MLB…
…following in the footsteps of DraftKings and MGM Resorts World. The deal with DraftKings will significantly enhance the company’s live and in-game wagering offerings. This will be achieved by granting the brand rights to use official MLB data along with MLB marks and logos within DraftKings’ sports betting products.
MLB has signed a series of related deals since the Supreme Court ruled on PASPA last year. One of the data-focused partnerships is penned with Perform Group, the other with Sportsradar. Through this alignment, the latter will become its official global data partner.
FanDuel president and chief operating officer, Kip Levin, commented on the deal as follows:
“Fantasy sports and sports betting have become a national pastime in their own right, so it’s natural to forces with MLB. MLB clearly understands how working together can be beneficial for baseball fans and both companies alike.”
Besides successful collaboration in this field…
…the operator also tied the knot with Fresh8. The multi-state and multi-platform deal with the company enables the supplier to utilize Fresh8’s automated marketing technology, which will save time and costs of production and distribution of their sports betting content.
The sports content supplier is also inPennsylvania and West Virginia.
Commenting on the cooperation with sports betting operator, Kenny Gersh, executive vice president, gaming and new business ventures at MLB declared as follows:
“Baseball is one of the most popular sports to bet on and partnering with MLB allows us to make the betting experience even better for our customers. With an enhanced betting experience, sports fans are watching more baseball as they have a stake in the game. Now having access to our official sports betting data feeds and MLB brands, we’re looking forward to the creative sports betting and fan experience innovations FanDuel will develop.”

The situation has changed towards better since PASPA was overthrown, and thanks to that, deals like this are a reality now.
