Playtech Partners with Hollywoodbets to Expand Presence in South Africa

Online gaming powerhouse Playtech has announced a new strategic partnership for the South African market, ing forces with Hollywoodbets, one of the most renowned sportsbook and casino operators in the country.

The website will offer Playtech’s top-performing slots and live casino, further strengthening its position as an industry leader while for Playtech, the latest agreement opens up a plethora of opportunities to cement its status as the major contributor to the development of the rapidly evolving markets of the African region.

Exciting New Casino Experience

Finishing the last year with several important collaborations in North America, including the U.S. deal with Boyd Interactive Gaming, an Ontario-headquartered B2C and B2B company, Playtech begins 2024 on another continent, responding to the increasing demand for online gambling in South Africa.

Largest Tournament Series

Just a couple of days before striking an agreement with Hollywoodbets, Playtech celebrated the completion of the largest event ever held on its extensive iPoker network.

Elite Series Winter Edition started on December 1, 2023, and ended on January 16, 2024, accumulating nearly €10,000,000 in the total prize pool and running more than 800 tournaments in different formats.

For those who are not familiar with the system, the most recent Elite Series Winter Edition consisted of daily tournaments with buy-ins ranging from €3 to €1,000 and a total of 93 events with a €20,000 or higher GTD. The highlight of the Series was the introduction of the multi-stage Mystery Bounty events, which contributed with incredible €650,000 to the overall series guarantees.
