Playtech Takes Responsibility and Apologizes for PTES Failings

Playtech, one of the leaders in providing gaming software in the iGaming industry has issued a statement apologizing for the failings of its PT Entertainment Services (PTES) subsidiary. The software supplier takes full responsibility.

The case where the service failed happened when a customer signed up for an in December 2016, which led to the customer spending £4.5m (€5.0m/$5.5m) on PTES’ Winner and Titanbet brands – losing £119,395 between 1 to 5 April 2017 alone – before committing suicide.

After the case, the United Kingdom Gambling Commission started a widespread investigation, revealing widespread failings in the business’ social responsibility and anti-money laundering process and revealed that no action was taken over the individual’s excessive gambling.

Representatives from Playtech, which recently partnered up with GiG, say that they take full responsibility for the regulatory breaches. They say that the company has invested a lot in recent years to ensure that these types of breaches do not happen again.
