Growth in Iowa's Sports Betting Market and Maine's Revenue Trends for Fiscal Year 2024

Two Iowa casinos, both belonging to Eldorado Resorts – Isle Casino Hotel Bettendorf and Isle Casino Hotel Waterloo – will be getting land-based and mobile sports betting according to the minutiae of the latest deal signed between the gambling company and US subsidiary of William Hill.
The world renowned betting firm will serve as the official sportsbook operator in both facilities, meaning that punters in this US state will have their first-ever access to William Hill mobile app, kiosks and in-play wagering menu!
They will have to wait, however, until legal sports betting is officially permitted in Iowa…
…which is slated to go live in August, after all the regulatory approvals have been given. Only then will the UK-headquartered bookmaker be able to launch their sportsbook.
In September last year, Eldorado Resorts and William Hill agreed a 25-year partnership and this particular deal is merely an extension of that – or, rather, a consequence of such exclusive alliance.
This agreement will establish Hill as their exclusive partner that will supply digital and land-based sports betting services aside from online gambling in general to all US venues belonging to this casino operator.
William Hill US president of retail operations, David Grolman, comments on this latest deal:
“We are thrilled to build on our already extensive relationship with Eldorado Resorts as the sports betting industry continues to gain momentum. As a growth-fuelled company, they have taken monumental steps to become leaders in the gaming industry.”
Eldorado’s president and chief operating officer, Anthony Carano, adds:
“Expanding the William Hill relationship to include Iowa offers our loyal customers a full complement of gaming action and plays an important role in providing guests the unbelievable experience they have come to expect from Eldorado Resorts.”
The partnership agreement between the two entities was finalized in January…
…when the former acquired a $50m equity stake in WH as well as a 20% stake in their US subsidiary as a part of their US-focused arrangement.
This gave Hill the rights to operate online sports betting in order to launch via Eldorado’s license in states which requires from operators to have a land-based partner.
The UK giant will also have the option, in addition to that, to offer online casino and poker services where regulations allow.
Iowa Governor, Kim Reynolds, signed a bill in May that legalizes online and mobile sports betting.
