Wyoming Online Sports Betting Revenue Surges to $1.5 Million in July

The Wyoming Gaming Commission has released its July report, highlighting significant growth in the state’s online sports betting market. Wyoming’s online sportsbooks handled a total of $9.7 million in bets during July 2024, marking an impressive 19 percent year-over-year increase. The state’s online sports betting revenue also saw substantial growth, reaching $1.5 million—a jump of more than 39 percent month-over-month and a remarkable 50 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

DraftKings Dominates Wyoming Sports Betting Market

DraftKings Sportsbook emerged as the dominant player in Wyoming’s online sports betting market for July, contributing the largest share of both betting handle and revenue. DraftKings handled $5.2 million in bets, ing for over 53 percent of the state’s total handle. This activity generated $865,345 in revenue for DraftKings, reinforcing its leading position in the market.

Following DraftKings, FanDuel Sportsbook was the next highest contributor, with a betting handle of $2.5 million and revenues totaling $373,351. Other notable performers included BetMGM, which generated $194,792 in revenue, and Caesars, which brought in $38,646. Fanatics Sportsbook, a newcomer to the Wyoming sports betting scene, made a modest contribution with $31,277 in revenue.

Wyoming’s Legislative Push for Gambling Expansion

The strong performance of Wyoming’s online sports betting sector comes as state lawmakers are exploring further opportunities to expand the gambling industry. Earlier this year, four state representatives introduced HB 120, a bill aimed at legalizing online casino gambling in Wyoming. This legislative push builds on the state’s successful 2021 campaign, led by Representative Tom Walters, to legalize online sports betting and fantasy sports.

The continued growth in online sports betting revenues underscores the potential for further expansion of Wyoming’s gambling industry. With DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, and other major operators actively contributing to the state’s economy, the introduction of online casino gambling could further enhance Wyoming’s status as a competitive market in the U.S. gambling landscape.
